SparkieStitch has landed!!!

Hello and welcome - I’m Caroline and I live near Winchester in the UK, with my husband and two lazy greyhounds.

I have been knitting and crocheting since 2011, when I woke up one morning completely out of the blue, with a random urge to knit. The only time I’d knitted before that was when I was seven years old! Since then, I have re-taught myself how to knit, had a couple of crochet lessons, and never looked back.

People are always telling me I should sell my makes, so for the past 18 months (alongside my way less colourful day job as an accountant – yawn!) I have been busy having fun and working hard designing and making my own blankets and accessories, with a plan to sell my patterns online. It’s been a massive learning curve, writing patterns is much harder than reading them!

I have learned so much over the years from Lucy’s wonderful Attic24, and other bloggers such as Cherry Heart, Janie Crow and Coastal Crochet, so I owe them massive thanks for all the inspiration. I have always been drawn to bright colours and patterns, and this is a wonderful way to indulge in that passion.

So far, I have mostly been using Yarnsmiths Create DK for my patterns - you will find more details in the individual product descriptions.
